Hi all

Can anyone help me with the following... I'm new to the scene of electric flight and i'm interested in geting the Efilte Pawnee. My problem is the the recommended Battery. The manual recommends a 3s 4200mA pack. Isn't this overkill??

Is there anyone using a pack that big, and if so what flight times are you getting?
Also, could one not rather use 2 packs in parallel rather than the one pack?

Thanks Chaps

I'm not sure what Pawnee your refering to. I have the 15 / 25 size with an E-Flite 25 motor and a 3S - 3850 battery. 8 - 9 mins. easy. It is BARELY enough power, I may go to a 4S battery.

Thanks Don. I was thinking of using the e-flite power 15e motor, you think the same capacity batery as yours would be sufficient?

I'm here to tell you that if you trick the Pawnee out with flaps, etc. the 15 is just not going to cut it. Mine weighs 4.5 lbs. and the 25 is just barely adequate. We're just talking scale type flying - nothing fancy.

I would not think that you would need a 3800 pack with a 15, I'm sure a 3200 would be ample.

I use a 2500 mah LiPo in my Pawnee with an Eflite 15. I get flights in the range of 7 - 10 minutes. I am a firm believerin keeping models as light as possible, thus the lighter LiPo battery. Performance with the
Eflite 15 is quiet good.
