Is an OS 1.2 4C engine sufficient to power the Dave Platt spitfire? I dont intend to put a lot of scale items so will build it light. Tks

Which Platt Spitfire are we talking about? If it's the old .60 size that later became the Pica kit then yes, the 1.20 is more than adequate. If it's the bigger 1/5 scale that Dave still offers then, in my opinion, the 1.20 will be lacking in power even if built very light.

Too bad that the 1/5 scale one needs a larger engine. I was looking for a Spitfire for an OS 1.2 4C . Nitroplanes has an ARF but I am not sure it has the elliptical wings that I am looking for. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for something really scale Mick Reeves in the UK has an accurate 1/6 scale Spitfire kit. I imagine the 1.20 could be wedged into the Top Flite kit but it really is not very scale. Kyosho has a 1/6 scale Spitfire ARF that is passable as a Spitfire, though far from being truly scale. Brian Taylor had a couple of 69" span Spitfire plans/parts offerings that would be suitable if you can find them.

Maybe I will sell the OS 120 4c and get a bigger gas engine for the DP Spitfire. Tks everyone.
