I have a Walker 4#1 fixed pitch heli. Sometimes I get really slow response to right rudder. I'll move the stick far right, and the bird will just sit there for a second or two, and then finally the nose will move right. Other times rudder stick response is very quick.

I'm not positive, but it seems to happen more when I'm pulling out of some other maneuver. For instance, I can do a clockwise piro (stick hard right) and the piro starts immediately when I give right rudder. When I want to stop the piro it stops immediately.

But when I do a counter-clockwise piro (hard left rudder), the bird goes about 45 degrees past where I want it to stop. Then when I give it hard right rudder, it won't come back right until a second or two later.

Does this have something to do with the gyro? Has anyone else experienced this?

I posted this on the Walkera 4#1 forum, but I thought it might be a general problem with fixed pitch helis.

Hi Atomic

i have had a simlear problem and yes it could be your Gyro ( gane ) or it could be a tail motor going bad. the tail motors dont last to long. ok now on to the testing if you look on the 4 in 1 you will see a light now i think you should have only 1 little screw holw onthe right side of the 4 in 1 gently turn it clock wise and then fly and see if the tail controls gets better a nother way you can do it is un plug the motor from the 4 in 1 and run it up to full speed and the tail motor should be runing at full speed gently turn the screy in the 4 in 1 untill you hear the speed of the tail incress or decress. you want it to be as fast as it can go this should incress the tail control. rember that to turn the heli with left adn right rudder tail motor. that you in cress the decress the speed of the tail rotor so in one direction you are using the natrial torque of teh main motor to turn the heli and the other you are using thrust from the tail motor to turn it so one direction it will seam to rotate better. i hope this helps

Thanks for the tips. I'll try them out as soon as the weather clears around here. Hopefully it will solve my issue.

Though it really seems like it is just ignoring my stick input. After trying your suggestions, I may open my transmitter and check out the pots. Maybe they are dirty?
