Yeah,they only had it in 8mm...So it was that way or the highway...I think tha 8mm after all is good.I wont have any problems with cutting because i ordered it with the exact dimensions the chassis has,so i have to cut it only in front and back from the wings.And the 8mm wont bend as easily.I don't know if it weights too much...It is 5kilos

i made my own chassis a few years back and theres a thread on it but my pictures are deleted from photbucket since then
i made mine outta 7075 t6 x .250 or 1/4 inch or 6.35 and had to weld the side kick up on because it blew up when using the metal brake in my case it was a sheet 12x24 inches and costed around 50 bucks but the quality or chassi was absolutley great !! was a tank
heres a side vierw i had left on photobucket

Well i got 4mm thick alloy i picked up a cheet about 40x30 inches for $15,it bend when you put your foot on it im not sure what grade it is,though should be ok...
