The misspelled words and item location are clues that the seller is in China so not only will it take 3 weeks to get it,good luck getting support or money back from China! Also why is the plastic shroud still on the motor?Probably used the shroud as a cheap motor mount!

The words 'Purple Light' on the hull make my skin crawl...

If the hulls are made by the same 'craftsmen' that produce their smaller hulls, the boat is only good for display purposes.
The Polyester work is shabby at best and there is so much chalk in the first (outside) layer, you could write with it on a blackboard, and yes, it's very brittle, the slightest stress will cause cracks.
As you may know, polyester itself isn't watertight, so if the gelcoat starts cracking, the dirt and grease will spoil the lookst of the nice white hull.
I dread to think what fuel spilling inside will cause...

Not worth your $500...

Regards, Jan.

Schipster - seems you are very much sold on your shockwave but if you do a little searching you will find that they too have/had their share of problems - especially in earlier versions. Your shockwave comes from China - just like the boat this thread started about. Dont get me wrong - I have absolutely no issue with Chinese products. But there are plenty of RTR boats made right here in America that sell for less money than the shockwave, support American hobbiests, and come with after sales service. There is something to be said for supporting your local builders sometimes

Do a search on You Tube and you'll see that it's a slug.
I love when they use the word "Professional" in their ads as this isn't a professional sport/hobby.
Now onto the part where we put it down. Note the exposed servos and RX switch, not good as when water gets to it they'll go quickly. They also include a bottom-of-the-line Futaba Mag Sport AM radio. You don't want AM in a gas boat and even worse on 27 Mhz.
I love "Retail" prices as they could put a Gazillion Dollars in there to make it look like you're getting a deal.
Nobody runs a 33cc engine in racing.
The "Ron Hill" type prop. They must have seen his name on eBay and his props aren't all that hot. Ron also makes props for full-sized boats.
Note the return policy. If you have a tiny defective part you have to send the whole thing back and pay for shipping! Basically once you've got it you're stuck with it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk1vUn6gIcA 45 MPH? Yeah, right ........

Let us not get too particular over spelling. Many a poster on this site has bigger problems with spelling than that auction. I am sure we too may have problems when trying to write in Chinese

No kidding, but the difference being, I would have it proofread. I'm not usually particular, but in this case, it is an add.

I like the description.

"This is one of the kind, a professional custom made RC Gas racing Hydroplane Boat."

Ohhh now its a hydro.

The sad thing is someone bought it buy now for $635 shipped. I'd expect that someone out there is going to be really dissapointed with this pile of junk and will probably never buy another RC boat again .
