Mike,Just had 1 of 2 5955's ganged on the rudder of my aw 260 35%,totally melt down, short the battery pack and total my plane, they have performed perfectly until now.I've been flying this bird off and on for over a year,no servo fighting, buzzing or jittering and boom. Now I'm a little scared to trust them,it started burning at the bottom of the case.on the circuit board.I have heard the robot people have exp.some of the same stuff. Is this something that can be upgraded or prevented? Thanks for any help!

Sorry to hear about the problem. It looks like the FET's (motor controller) overheated and melted. This is typically caused by excessive long term load or a bind; it's extrememly rare to have this happen under normal conditions.

While it's no consolation, the new 7955's have an overload protection circuit that would prevent such a failure. You do need the new HFP-20 programmer to activate this feature though.

Send it the servo and we will most likely replace it under warranty.

Sorry again.

Mike.
