You will need to purchase wheels and tires if he wants to run that subaru body. Reason being that the cuda comes with 26mm wide tires and zero offset wheels up front, and 31mm wide tires and 3mm offset wheels in the back. That subaru body (as well as just about every 200mm body) requires zero offset wheels and 26mm tires at all four corners.

Sorry, I hope I'm not confusing you.

There are tons of different style wheels out there for these cars, (I can tell you personally, white rims and nitro cars don't get along to well, lol) they get dirty extremly quick from the exhaust on these cars. Wheels are usually pretty cheap, like $6 - $9 bucks for 2 wheels. But your going to need different tires as well, and those are around $15 a pair (depending on what you get) So in total for a complete set of wheels and tires = $40 - $50
I personally would suggest just giving him the car stock and let him choose which rims he wants to run with the subaru body.

As for the body, you shouldn't need anything else. That car has adjustable body posts so multiple height bodys will fit it.

no offense dude, but what are you telling her about foams? the guy wont need foams it is just for playing around. what does he need foams for? just get rubber tires like the falken tires from hpi.

arent the RT-615 tires drift tires?

how about getting your boyfriend the RTR car, batteries, gas, and a glow plug ignitor, wrap the subaru body seperatley, as an extra gift, and maybe a $50 gift card to a local hobby r/c shop?

then he can pickout whatever wheel's tires he want's, and maybe after he looks around at all the stuff he could buy with that gift card...he will get hooked on the hobby.

youve allready done an awesome job and im sure he will love the gift, but part of the fun of this hobby is learning what you need to do, and purchasing upgrade's.

Hello chaps!

I just want to swing by and say thanks very much for all the help you gave Nikki. She did well. I'm stoked to get this thing set up and broken in.
I'll be around here quite a lot from now on to pester you and to learn about this stuff.

Nikki was right when she said I'm a car nut. Here is a pic of my Subaru..

04 WRX w an 07 built sti motor, Four Star tuned Ecutek ecu, JDM STi spec c flywheel, Four Star motor mounts and tranny pitch rod mount, Tein coilovers, whiteline sways, endlinks, Perrin exhaust, Kartboy short shifter kit and exhaust hangers, Bosal down pipe, HKS up pipe, Exedy clutch, Spearco intercooler, Recaro Speed seats, Momo wheel and knob, DEFI gauges, Alpine deck and amps, MBQuart speakers, MMATS subs, custom trunk floor sub enclosure, fully sound deadened and RAAMatted interior..twice, tint, Zerosports wing risers, JDM STi splitter, clear corners, painted skirts, de-badged and grill emblem removed, flocked center console, a-pillars, and vent trim, all other interior trim removed and painted black, etc. etc.

I no longer have this car. But Nikki and I just went and bought this car a few months ago and we love it..08 Audi A3 S-Line 2.0T.

It aint modified. Well, I had it REVO reflashed to 260hp and 299ft.Lb of tq, but otherwise its stock. With all the heat modified cars are taking in Ontario, we figured we better buy a car thats more stealth.

Of course, I'll have to let my modding bug loose on something so I'll be talking to you guys soon. Once again, thanks for all of your help and recommendations for Nikki.

Simon

She won't hand it over til the end of the week. But as soon as she does, I'll slam up a photo. How is the GC holding up to the rigors of the STi motor? Lots of rattles and squeaks?

none at all really, im using full STi-N mount's, trans mount, and pitch mount, and all of the whiteline bushing's...its loud, but no rattles or squeak's.

3" perrin catless downpipe, 3" JIC titanium catback, perrin up-pipe, with Tial 38mm external wastegate(atmosphere dump), Fujitsubo equal length header.

thats just my exhaust setup...its pretty loud

^Wow. Thats gotta rumble pretty good. How long have you had it set up like that? maybe it just needs more time to develop some rattles. A friend of mine has an 01 setup similarly and after seven years, its starting to rattle like a ****.

p.s. I have to publicly thank my girlfriend for being amazing. I'm a very lucky man and I try very hard not to forget that. I can only hope you guys are half as fortunate with your girls. I don't know many girls willing to go to this extent to get the right gift. Thx babe! xo

just remember what she did for you, when its time for you to get her a gift....you guys gotta take care of eachother and keep it fun.

she seems like a cool girlfriend.

what was the reason for the gift? and when do you get to play with it?

you should open it on video, and then post it so we call all enjoy it! haha...that would be funny.

Well, Nikki finally let me have the car. Loving it. I haven't started it yet, but I've been prepping it and I already splashed fuel on my hand. I'll be getting some latex gloves at some point.
I've also been reading the instruction manual all night. So I just have to grab a bunch of AA batteries tomorrow and it'll be good to go. Not looking forward to the break-in, but oh well. Its gotta be done..
And we're swinging by some shop tomorrow to pick up the HPI Subaru Impreza body that Nikki ordered for me. So I guess I'll have to grab some wheels and tires for that too.

This thing is wicked!
