OK I have NEVER had this happen in 13 years of flying,

got the laser200 all ready to rock on and when i go into a dive it runs out of fuel got it down and checked everything out and it is actually running out of fuel due to the clunk coming out of the fuel and sucking air. i have several air planes of same style sport flying and none of them run out of fuel , any suggestions? i hate dead sticking a flying model instead of a gliding model !

This will happen with any plane if the fuel level is low enough and the dive angle steep enough and held long enough. There are work-arounds.

First is to restrict long dives to the first half of the tank of fuel. This minimizes the chance that the clunk stays uncovered long enough to kill the engine.

Second is a larger tank, allowing longer reserves, same as above.

Third is to install a longer fuel supply line to the engine. It's the fuel already in the line that the engine is running on in a dive. Most engines will clear the air bubble quickly and easily after the dive, so long as they had some left.

The surest solution is to install a bubbleless tank. Dubb Jett sells one type. These are hard plastic tanks, not unlike what we usually use, with a flexible fuel bladder inside. Fuel and air never touch, so no air can be sucked up. 10,000 foot vertical power dives become possible, tho still not recommended .
