GSX-R is certainly more practical.. (ha, I had one!) But if $$$ is no object, I'd be parking a 1098R in my garage for sure...

the 1098's are nice bikes, not the most powerful sportbikes, but man they have the rumble nothing else does.

they're plenty enough to get you to and from work and back, use a lot less fuel too, dad rides his to and from unless it's raining.

That Vmaxx reminds me of the Honda V65 Sabre from the '80s. That was a big engine stuffed into a smaller bike. I think the partner to that was the Magna with more of a rake.

Did the Vmaxx come with a fairing at all?

Those bikes are of the same ilk, the Vmaxx has been pretty much the same since it was originally produced in 84.

Here's a Suzuki Katana 1100 cc, top speed 180 mph. I was 17 when I had this rocket. I almost killed myself and my 16 year old girlfriend when coming up on a curve and almost blew the curve at 160 mph. It was not a sharp curve, as you could imagine. Damn the bad luck. The cop's I ran from on this bike, is a very long list and never got caught, never once. And the rest is history...

Here's another toy of mine. It's a rice burning, Honda CR250R, 2 stroke, water cooled.

A short story: I was just going 5 blocks down a public road to my brothers house to do simple maintenance, before it went for sale. I got stopped by a detective in a un-marked truck. He was actually a nice guy, as he walked away, I said hey dude, I was expecting a ticket. He said ok, I can do that. After twirling my thumbs for 10 minutes, a cop showed up. I got what I wanted, a ticket.

Little did they know, my uncle is the parish Judge and my cousin is the DA. Power talks and the bull walks and no they never got their money. I used that money for more fuel.
