I have searched for a Die that has the same threads as most spark plugs-14x1.25 and cannot find one. Is their such an animal, or do i even have the threads correct. Even Master car catalog don't carry it. Any ideas out their.

That's the right size, but it's a very fine thread. You may have to contact a tool shop overseas to get it. I'm a manufactuer, and I have a hard time just finding metric stainless fine thread bolts sometimes.

The easyest thing to do is... if you only need one or two parts... find someone with a lathe, and have them cut the threads for you.

What are you trying to do?

I want to make my own adapter for glow conversion. I know i can order one, but thats not as much fun as making the parts. I have a lathe and looks like i'll be cutting threads. Having a Die would be quick and easy. The search continues.

I just make mine from old spark plugs usually. Or you can order one from Horizon Hobbies for 10 bucks...

The gentleman seems to be looking forward to the challenge of cobbling up his own adapter.
I’m confused, is RCIGN now selling budget priced spark plug thread dies?

he sells glow plug adapters

what I've done to make adapters is take an old spark plug (saved from the trash at work), removed the porcelin (stuck it in the lathe and cut the crimp off), turned it down to shorten it, shortened the threads so there's only like 3 left (they were small block chevy plugs, long threads), made an aluminum plug to go down the middle and pressed that in, drilled that out to the right size to tap to 1/4-32, then tapped the middle, I used the lathe to cut the right threads onto a 1/4" bolt shaft, then slotted the sides of the threads so it would work as a tap. I haven't ran on this adapter, but it should work

Called this guy every day this week and no answer. Ended up buying some ignitions from CH. I do want to make my own. I have a shop and need to use it, part of the fun of conversion. Money is not an issue, just enjoying making things work-You Know?

Did the same thing with a regular plug from a trimmer. I haven't press fit the ALm in yet, waiting on a 1/4 x32 plug tap. I'm not sure about the press fit with vibration and different metals. I think it will blow out in a short time. It would be like a bullet.

aluminum expands more than steel, and it's inside, plus if you're really worried, get some green loctite, the one labeled "sleeve retainer", that'll hold it for sure, or just machine a step in the end of the aluminum that would go twards the combustion chamber, a physical stop...

Putting the step in is what i thought. This would be a very simple a fast way to make these. I'll post a shot of one finished.

Huh?
The gentleman in the posting said he wants to make his own adapter.
He stated he does not want to buy one,but is looking for a die.
Some of us run into tooling(dies in this case) we could use with our machine tools at home.
