Status: offline 		I am starting a new build of the "Snapdragon" trimaran, following the Traplet plans. I also have the Traplet plans for the Freight Train" which I may consider as a future project. I am a fairly experienced builder and I have have just completed a USOM. The Snapdragon plans have reasonable details to build the basic boat but lack details on radio placement, crossbeam lengths and/or angles, preferred winch locations, shroud attachment points etc. I can certainly overcome this but if anybody has built this tri I would appreciate their feedback on any potential pitfalls or issues to consider. I chose this design over the Freight Train design as I am more familiar with balsa planking/fiberglass construction than foam. I have the main hull planked and I will be fairing and glassing it shortly, then moving on to the floats. I am considering replacing the straight CF tube beams with a custom made set of gullwing arms, as they are more asthetically pleasing and make for a prettier looking boat. I'm not planning on racing the boat at this point but I do want to get as much performance out of it as possible. I have raced full-sized multihulls competitively for many years (Hobies, Tornados, Nacras) so the thought of an RC multihull intrigued me and after the success of the recent USOM build I'd thought I'd give it a try. I'll post some pictures as the build progresses. I have attached a pic of the recent USOM build.
