I just got a GT2, it's my first nitro I've always been into electrics. I broke the motor in yesterday and took it to my local track last night for open practice. It is a clay track, fairly hard packed. I could'nt get any traction with this thing at all, I moved the tops of the shocks inward and loosend the slipper some more and still nothing, it was like driving on ice with this truck. I guess most people at the track are running holeshots or bowties. SO I am off the LHS today to pick some up. Any other suggestions for this truck? I've been out of racing for years so any advice on setting this truck up would be much appreciated.

Well, I was able to pick up a set of Bowtie-T's at the LHS and a set of Pro-Line wheels to mount them on. I think I'm going to move the spacers in the back of the truck to lengthen the wheel base too, I think that may help a little?

I run the Proline gladiators. They are some mean tires. The only drawback is that they are heavy but the grab on any condition. I was at the track 2 weeks ago and it rained on and off and the trac was wet and I still had good traction until the clay started to cake my wheels LoL, then it was useless

They also last a long time. If I were going to race tho, I would get bowties.

i run on a clay track and i run holeshots and bowties but most guys run holeshots they really are the best for clay(holeshots) the m3 compound. some guys run them on the road to take a little off the middle and they keep the side bite. also try the blades up front you might like those i switch between the blade and the edge in the front.

the holeshots seem to load up faster than the bowties do. when the track is a little wet from watering but as soon as it dryes they are both fine. the edge will load up right away but the blade stays clean when the track is a little moist from watering.

Try going to a 10 wt oil in the rear shocks and leave just a little air in them also..........either one of the tires will work

make the front and rear suspension higher so a better center of gravity. Harden the suspension using spacers and then try running it again.
