I was given this smoke pump set up by an older gentleman but do not have a clue as to how it works. You can see everything it the pitcures i think.
The small deal the servo arm is on I think is the pump. There are two small threaded bolt sticking out. Does the battery hook to them maybe? And the small things with line nipples are what? I want a smoke pump but man this is not like any I have seen. I have only seen a sullivan. Thanks for any help fella's.

Intresting setup what the servo is hooked up to looks like a valve to me, The 2 black thigns with the blue tubs are pumps normaly usedto supply fuel to the engine... theye run off engine vibration and not any electrical setup...

Just guessing I would say the servo is connected to an on/off valve. The two black items are Perry pumps that must supply the pressure for the fluid, but I would think they might not supply it at very high pressure. The other item is a needle valve, probably used to control the flow rate of the smoke fluid. I've never heard of using Perry pumps for smoke, but it's a good idea. No electrics and few leaks.

It is a Perry/Varsane/Conley smoke system. You actually have two VP-20 ossilating pumps there. One is used for the smoke system. It is mounted on the backplate of the engine itself and oriented in the plain of rotation (it will not work on the airframe itself). There is a molded in arrow to indicate the flow direction.

The device with the servo is the pinch off type flow control for shutting the smoke on and off. The other little device is an oil needle valve to adjust the flow volume. The servo valve would be used between the tank and pump and the flow control needle would be used between the pump and the muffler or preheater coils.

This picture shows the proper orientation for mounting the VP-20, it could also be used on the bottom side 180 degrees on back plate mount. The ossilating pump can be use for either smoke oil or fuel, in this installation is pumping fuel:
