hey everyone! as you will see i had a great time bashing today!! i ran around 7 or 8 tanks today!! engine is running like a top and it has reached its 1 gallon run thru it mark. but as i was jumping a culvert accross my street, i noticed the rubber seal for the spur gear cover was missing, so i said oo well and kept driving. its nothing major, i wasnt mudding or driving in sand, then i had a harder landing and noticed it had cracked like the next one. i understand this happend over time because there is nothing supporting the top of the cover, so over time, it weakens as it rubs a little now and then. so now this is toast. any reccommedations for my next one?? i want one with a back cover too, like the new lst2's. should i get the losi one or another 10 dollar rpm one? what are you all running on it?? thanks alot for your help!!

Why did you use the RPM gear cover in the first place if it was binding. It does not work with the lst2 chassis rails. It will work with the lst1/aftershock side rails.
If I were you, I'd go with a losi lst2 inner/outer gear cover. The RPM gear cover does a better job of keeping dust out but it just rubs against the spurs and reduces your engine's ability to transfer power to the ground.
I've always ran the stock gear cover btw. I tried the rpm gear cover but never ran the truck cuz it was rubbing the spurs too much.

it wasnt binding much, i mean, when ud sping the gears, you wouldnt hear them rubbing, but you could wiggle the top back and fourth, so i guesst after time, the little bit of bumping on the gear wore the cover down.

Any...even the slightest amount of rubbing or binding is not acceptable by my standards. They all are part of the big equation....getting the power down to the ground....if these small things get in the way....you will notice that your truck is not moving as fast as you'd like it to.
