The brushless motor on the bug is not running. Its prop jumps back and forth when giving throttle, even full throttle. Would anyone know if this is a motor or ESC problem? Thanks Ron

Ron, sounds like an open connection or a poor connection. Check any solder joints for a cold solder joint, like at the esc to motor wires. Also look at where the three wires leading into the motor connect to the windings. One loose winding will give you this type of occurance.

Lastly check the timing on the esc to motor, I've had a couple where you had to chage the timing mode to eliminate the stutter.

Thanks Glacier Girl
It was the motor as another one runs fine. Is there a way to run a brushless motor without connecting to an ESC? Like right from a battery? I took the covering off the 3 wires of the bad motor to see if they were connected and they are. Would the problem be further into the motor coils? Any correct way to test the motor with a meter? Thanks Ron

Ron -

There is no way to run a brushless motor without connecting it to an ESC.

Here is a thread that discusses how to test a brushless motor:

Maybe I can check it and get it working again. Ron
