I was just curious about what you have to do to get sponsored by a manufacturer? I wouldnt consider it any time soon being that I am just starting to try flying inverted. I am kind of trying to figure out what the benefit is of learning 3d other than be able to impress people? Any comments would be appreciated thank you.

You seen the babes that follow the 3D wizards around? - Women taking off their underwear and throwing them onto the field. Like rock stars, man!

Aside from that, I guess it's just to challenge yourself to do something that VERY few people in the world do.

I think it's just the challenge of learning a difficult skill. Most of the guys that I know who do 3D do it for the challenge and because guys in general are competitive and push each other when we are in groups.

To get sponsored all you have to do is go to major events and show up the Szabos, the manufacturers will come to you

Seriously you either have to know someone or be a world class pilot that goes to a lot of events to get noticed.

There is a significant difference between being sponsored and being a Rep. The above answers go for being sponsored, (although I think the statement by rcjon is a little exagerated )

For being a Rep, you just have to approach the company you want to Rep. Most if not all of the companies have a restriction on which helis you are allowed to fly in public if you are a Rep. Being a Rep, you have a discount on Parts and Kits, but is nowhere like being sponsored.
