the viscosity of fg shock oils go by the thousands, ie; 4000-5000.. and standard silocone shock oils like trinity and so on go by the double digits, ie; 40wt-50wt. my question is are they the same with fg's just having a couple extra zreo's? im assuming the fg oils are silocone..wrong?.. so would a trinity 50wt be the same as an fg 5000wt?

A 30 wt oil is not the same as 3000wt oil from FG.I know a guy who tried 90wt oil in his dampers on his FG Marder,it was waaay to thin. And yes,its silicone

To convert US weights to European weights, take off 20% and add a zero. eg, US 50wt = 400wt Euro. This is not a precise formula though, it's an approximation ONLY. Best thing is to use euro weights, cos the best oil suppliers use them. Xray and Mugen oils are particularly good.

if it's for your on-road, which I assume it is, use 6000 or 7000 in front and 3000 or 4000 in the rear. That's a very good starting point for an on-road on ANY surface. Most racers I know don't use anything else. I use 7000 front and 4000 rear and it works very well for my car on a loose surface and on a grippy one. With your car being a sportline, I'd recommend you go with the 6000 front and 3000 back. Oh, what springs are you using?

Red springs front and rear are the hot ticket on that track. Just make sure you use the right shock oil. If you're using 50 wt oil you're gonna have serious handling problems.

NOOOOO! 90 weight would be about 700, not 7000. Similarly 50wt is 400, not 4000. This is a whole different scale than the oils for small shocks.

Jason, I have plenty of shock oil. If you want to get the most out of your car this weekend, take your shocks off when we get to the track and I'll give you some oil for them.
