So I took some scrap wood I had and made a jump with just a hand saw and screws. It took me an hour and I think it may be a nice little jump that I can take anywhere. I will be taking out to my brothers here in an hour so will get some pics of it on soon.
Sorry the pic is so bad but it was with my phone and I'm in a hurry.

It looks like high altitude jumping and the height maybe too tall for the length. You might knock it over, an extension of the base would fix that if it is a problem. Other than that, it looks like a great back flipping ramp. I hope it works out for you and above that, I hope you have fun. You should set it up and get a night shot, jumping over the next full moon. I thought about the tipping over so I have to peices of 1x1 that hook to the back of it at an agle and will give support for that. Also on the base I have a sheet of plywood that I will set my tool box on for weight. I wanted to have a packable jump that I can carry anywhere. Was hoping to backflip since I havent ever done one.
We are having a BBQ today and will be bashing all day and night so I think we will have some good pics. Would be cool to have a pic at night over the camp fire or even the pool. Brothers pool is 5ft high by 18 wide so may be a big jump. Not sure if I want to try that..lol Anyways I have a buddy coming over to take pics. Taking pics is his job so I think we can get some cool pics.. Can't wait to share, just hope the jump is good enough for some..lol

I wish my phone would take decent pics like that, Not bad for a phone pic, And nice ramp too.

Thanks choppa, We had alot of fun yesterday using it and it seemed to work good. Nothing broke and we had some bad landings. Was jumping about 7-10 high and about 15ft distence. I think I will be taking apart and redoing to make it wider and alittle more sturdy.
I will have some pics and video up soon.
We ended up jumping the fire and had a blast... Some good fire jumps at night..

Yeah, thats a steep ramp, it may just plow into it.

Bends looking good, junkie. We're about to start building one also. what length is your board?

Thanks Mike, good question, and I dont' have a tape measure handy. Looks about 4' by 2.5' to me...but I tend to over-state distances. At least that's what my girlfriends have always said...usually with a disappointed look.

I've been soaking it with water every few hours, and curving it more. I have a pretty sweet plan that I hope works out...here's where the curve is now (it springs back quite a bit when you release it)

I'm thinking about getting a cheap steam cleaner to make my next ramp (Which is NOT going to be portable ). the heat should help shape the wood a lot better. I'm also considering fiberglassing over this one I'm building now, to keep the plywood from separating.

I have been wanting to build one out of aluminum. Roll a sheet to the proper curve, then weld in some square tubing to make the feet and support the back of the curve. It should be fairly light. I have a couple of friends that work with aluminum all the time, maybe I can hit their scrap or rejected project piles. A guy could install a pair of threaded feet to change the height and angle of the ramp. BB

BB, something i thought about was using a sheet of plywood like what I've got, screw a 2x4 to the middle, build a frame that supports the ends, then put an eye in the 2x4 in the middle of the plywood and an eye on the frame, put a turnbuckle between said eyes, and make it adjustable for curve. start straight and go however far ya wanna go
