Dawn Patrol is a WW1 team, that are members of the Large Model Association, their brief is to display 1/3rd scale WW1 models, no other scale is allowed, the first show has been done, and they STOLE IT!! up to 20 aircraft are on the go, mainly the usual Balsa USA pups, D7s, etc but several other models are present too, more exotic ones are coming, many scratch built,
What we want to know is, are there known sources for 1/3rd scale aircraft, we know about Glen Torrence, Arizona, Balsa USA, but there must be more out there, plans will do, as we have an excellant kit cutter in Bellair models, accesories are wanted, guns, wheels, rigging, turnbuckles, all the things that make a WW1 plane come together

if anyone has an knowledge of the wheaerabouts of unusal aircraft, from ANYWHERE in the world, i would be gratefull,

next weekend, its the LMAs main show, at RAF Cosford, WE WILL HAVE 16 AIRCRAFT FLYING A 20 MINUTE SLOT, should be good, eh?

Sounds incredible, get some good video as I am not likely to see it first hand across the pond ! ha ha

Best of luck, I hope it grows and gets bigger.

Sounds great and it looks WILD. They did that today at War Birds over Delaware. Not all where 1/3 scale but there where about 17 in the air at once. I would upload the video but I forgot my camera cable at work.

Too cool, i am sure yours will be killer!

Alan,

Sounds like you've got most of the main maufacturers - you mention Arizona - they have some very unusual stuff.

Having been flying WW1 for over 20 years (hooray henry flying circus and then the Catton Team) & most I ever flown with is 17 - will be at Cosford with the Catton Team flying & dogfighting my Flair DR1 (survivor of at least 3 midair's) .

Will you guys be dogfighting or just flying in circles???

Best regards

Jason

Dont think dogfighting will come into it, but it will look spectacular, they where the bell of the ball at wings and wheels, i dare say they will fill the 2x20 minutes slots allocated to them each day its early days for the team, only one display under their belt, and more aircraft coming on stream all the time, I expect eventually, it could become quite lively, but for now, figures 8s will do
