im sure this is no secret but has anyone flown/bought the nitroplanes.com "Double Touble P-51D" "Miss America" or "U.S. P-51D" ??? (under the .60 Nitro tab)

Ive decided i want one when i found the H9 .60 Stang ARF and i found this website on a different post and checked into it. Are these planes any good? Id rather spend the money on a good plane rather then buy a crappy one that'll fail on me.

I like the look of both these planes, theyre cheap, and they have retracts too! If these are any good, ill be alot more comfortable flying one knowing "if i total this, it'll only cost a hundred to replace"

Beachboy, I have the Double Trouble 60. Mine is powered with a OS 91 fs and flies really well. It has strip airlerons and fair retracts. When the retract get loose you can just replace them with just about any mechanical retract of your choice. I hadn't flown mine for a while and just took it out the other day. I had forgotten just how good it flies. It is quite fast if you want with the OS or can fly pretty scale. It will fly a decent knife edge, loop real nice, and has a quick roll rate using 6 volts. Mine also has on board glow and I have set it up with flaperons to help slow it down. I am on my second set of retracts and now the covering is getting pretty crappy. It is not a ultracote or monocoat or a film of that quality. It will hold up well enough for a while though. The tail group is not very scale looking but once up in the air the mustang's lines still good. It was my first new warbird in years and my first ARF ( I was always a scale stick builder). I had been away from flying for a while and wanted something I really did care about if I crashed. Well, it flies good and I still have it. Don't expect it to be of the quaility of a H9, TF, or Sig but for the money it is a pretty good deal.

A-K Models has some nice, inexpensive planes too. I just received shipment of the RichModels 120 P-51. Will be awhile before I can report on how it flies, but $155 for a 120 size, glass fuselage plane, that looks on first inspection to be a fairly well constructed ARF ain't too bad!
