ok i own a national geographic land sailer and would like to convert it in to a sail boat so how would this be done?

so pretty much build a hull with a leel and on the bottom of the keel add a wieght?
so what size hull for about a 18 inch sail

Look up footy designs. You can stretch and slim them a bit. Having the mast between 1 and 1.5 times hull length works wll usually. The fin area should be more than 4% of the sail area, and in an ideal world the ballast weight should be at least 50% of the total.

so find the area of the sail and make a fin with atleast 1?25 of that area

okay so i took it abatr and this is going to be a tuff projece my hull has to ba at lesa 6 inches wide by ten long and the sail is actuall more like 24 inches. well im going on a trip from the 16th to the 20th so yeah wont have internet acccesbut feel free to give ideas.
