I was wondering if there were any replica car engines that had a working cam, crank, pistons, etc. in them. Do these even exist?

Ive seen a few conley v8s and what not. There not the kind of quality imo that would warrent purchasing one for how extremely expensive they are.

Thanks for the input, those are spendy little suckers, I might just build one from scratch myself at those prices. Going that rout really would take the RC gig to whole new levels.

This car was actually featured on Top Gear, as well. This thing is so exact that every minor detail the real car had works. IT took 20 years to build, and is worth six figures easy. It runs on gasoline(I think), the engine is an exact replica, even the pedals work! Clutch, hydraulic brakes, gas, all three, present and functional. The clutch, flywheel, entire transmission, it's all perfectly reproduced exactly how the real car is. Even the ignition switches work! Starter, batteries, low-and-highbeams, brake lights that are pedal-acuated, everything. The cockpit shifter works flawlessly. This thing is truly amazing, one of a kind and I think a museum bought it to fun this guy building a more modern Ferrarri to the exact same standards. This guy is soooo good at this ****, I'd LOVE to own this car, or even just to drive it(Mods would be needed, of course, for the radio gear. Servos would need to actuate the three pedals and the steering wheel!)

I couldn't believe it when he showed the gearbox and shifter actually work. I was expecting and awesome RC car with a replica engine, that thing is amazing!

:P If you were shrunk to 1/4 your size, you could drive this thing as if you were still full size!

Edit: And that, apparently, is the Top Gear interview. I'd recognize Jeremy Clarkson's voice anywhere. :P
