Hello guys,i have nitro and electric vehicles and want another. What is the better system?I just want something easy to use easy to maintain and cheap to maintain.I just want a good basher and a fun truck that is easy to run.I know everyone has their preference, nut would like advice from experiance with both.I would like nitro for the power and stuff, but have had very bad experiances with nitro, but have heard truck like rustler and stampede and t-maxx are very easy trucks to run.I like electric cause i don't have to deal with gas and glow plugs and pull starts and all that stuff.Electric i have had great experiances with my rustler and it was cheap and easy to use, just charge the battery. In deciding i have piced my favorites of both and would like some advice on these.

Nitro trucks
Stampede
rustler
t-maxx

Electric trucks
E-maxx
E-savage
VXL's

From your first paragraph you pretty much said what you want to drive... Get an electric and for your power ether get an e-maxx, e-revo, or e-savage. Personally I would go for the e-revo from those three choices. If you change your mind and want a nitro go for a savage or t-maxx..

Andrew

If you want electric I'd recommend the E-revo as well. Pretty much the best mainstream electric truck you can get right now. As for nitro I'd go with the Savage XL or LST2.

like andrew says,,sounds like you already know what you want.. always go with what your gut tells you... i am fairly new to this hobbie and started with nitro's.. i have the revo3.3 and the new tmaxx3.3. i love them both.. the sound site and smell is so cool.. i had electric heli's before and they just didnt do it for me.. not only very hard to fly but the lack of smoke and sound made it kind of boring. jake

I agree with what was said before, your mind and gut are leaning to the electric. With that being said I would go for any of the vxl set ups. I not you will want to go brushless soon after getting it i would say.. So skip the brushed motors and go for it.. No replacing brushes and such.
Just my opinion so don't hold it against me.. LOL !!!

This probably will cost more than you want to spend but I figured I would put this idea in your head....get a used (unless you can afford new) 1/8th scale buggy or truggy, purchase a conversion kit and a brushless system. You'll end up with a tough, stable RC which will be able to handle anything you throw at it , and blow the doors off anything else around.

Electric is probably better, because you can upgrade to go faster and stronger later on down the road much easier than with a nitro

I always laugh when I hear people say the smell of nitro is so great. That stuff is probably one of the worst things for you to breathe.......and it makes a MESS!! I dunno I have had both and there is no turning back. ELECTRIC all the way hands down. Instant throttle response plus the reliability factor is well worth it. plug and play.........screw that tuning bs.....been there done that.

I do miss the sound though.......that is the ONLY thing i miss about nitro

I do believe the words " Cheap to run and easy to maintain" Well that crosses the Nitro off the list straight away...
$40 worth of nitro wont last as long as a $40 battery...

If you have had good experiences with your Rustler... why change ..

Andyman004 : is right

i think the same

I own 2 Nitros because i tought WOW GAS CARS ARE SOOOOOO AMAZING..... they make Loud noise seems to go so fast...
.... yeah sure

#1 the nitro Gas is hyper Hyper HYPER toxic
#2 Gas spill from the exhaust
#3 smells VERY bad
#4 You basicly needs to clean your car after 3 runs cause it's always dirty
#5 engine tuning is a little Hard when you don't know how to tune properly for me it took me a while to get a hold of it i can't consider myself a Guru or anything like The guys at Rc universe but i know my way around & it's pretty hard to keep your car at TOP PeRformance all the time
#6 Most important the noise part.....very noisy
but 10x less than a scooter but still it's a high pitch sound

Bottom line electrics can go Faster than nitro if you know how , for half the price , half the problems , and you won't have to worry about dirtying everything around your house when you clean your nitro car , or tune the engine ^^

Interesting thoughts. Had an electric over 15 years ago and just bought my first nitro. I was pretty apprehensive buying the nitro because of everyone saying how difficult they are to tune and all the potential problems. But I'm very happy with my choice. Yeah, nitro is more complicated but I think that's why I like it: it's more of a challenge. Does nitro smell bad? Depends on who you ask. I think it smells good. And yes, they're loud. And that's why I like it. Yeah, nitro is toxic but so is gasoline and bleach and many other products used on a periodic occurrence. But it's not like you're mixing nitro with your vodka. On paper, electric is the way to go. The cars are faster, less mess, easier to maintain, blah blah blah. I even asked the same question before making my purchase and the hobby shop guy gave me the same story about electric. When I asked why they still make nitro, he told me people buy them for the sound and the smell. When he said that, I knew I was going nitro immediately. When it comes to nitro, it's much like the human body and spirit: the sum of the parts does not equal the whole body. There's something more. Something intangibile that you can only get with nitro. This is getting way too philisophical...Zen and the Art of Nitro Maintenance.

Once you go brushless you'll never look at a nitro the same way again.
When you buy a nitro, you pay extra for the sound and smell, also that pricey fuel doesnt last that long either compared to a battery pack.
I've ran packs that I've had our 2 years now, still have the punch since the day I bought them.
Think about it for a second, How much fuel will you use in the next 2 years?
It also depends on what size enigine you run the less runtime you'll get. A guy at the track runs one of those pricey novarossi motors
that was professionally tuned by a pro driver, he only gets 4-6 mins per tank of fuel in his 8 scale buggy.
I have to admit it's one of the fastest 8th scale buggies I have ever seen, but it comes at a price.

And nitro on-road just forget about it, people go through engines like crazy in onroad.
A guy that races professionally for mugen seikie runs them for about 10 tanks then sells them on ebay.
And you ask yourself why does he do that for?
