I have a Tamiya Durga and I ruined the back ball differential. The balls basically cut the center of the white plastic differential out. Was this because I had it too tight or too loose?

sounds to loose to me, if the diff is to loose, the balls will "slip" to much and you get a dead diff gear , do you remember what setting turns wise it was at, if it feels to smooth when you turn it, chances are its to loose and will overheat very fast and you end up with either a "cut" due to the heat or a fused into one giant expensive lump of a melted diff mass

LOL it wasn't quite a fused mass but it did cut right through it, didn't even know I had a problem until the rear wheels stopped turning. I thought it was probably too loose, have to make sure to tighten them a bit more when I replace it.

Oh, does anyone know of an aluminum diff as a hop up that would fit the DB01?

Tighten the diff all the way and then loosen it 1/8th or 1/4th a turn.
