it could be the radio/transmitter or bad interfierance.

i just took back a radio system for that problem on a nitro.

Try a different radio or even new batteries in the same radio. You may also have a defective esc or motor. Some sensorless systems just have really bad cogging and you can't change it.

What battery are you using? What are your current esc settings. It could be a combination of the radio, bad quality batts, or settings. You will need to isolate the problem first before trying to fix it.

Have you updated the firmware on the esc?

usually real cogging is because the battery can't keep the voltage high enough while throttling up... either the voltage drops below the voltage cut off point in the esc or the battery is just too weak to delivery power the motor needs at the time... that being said, check the esc settings for any obvious bad seettings.. start-up power on low is generally a good setting.. if you run 6cell nimh you proly don't even need a voltage cut off set.. I don't know much about the tazer esc, but I am sure others do. also try a different battery if you have access to some others.. just to see if yours is the problem..

try startup power at normal instead of low, sometimes starting at low, when starting out on throttle will go slow then fast, normal will prevent that

I guess that would make sense if the esc is limiting the power too much.

the tazer has seriously limited settings, but i played with the throttle points during initial set-up and it seems to be working fine now. I also put in an 1800mah 2cell eflite battery.

not any more... cogging was an issue with the older firmwares.. but I have an old style mamba-25 with the 1.17 firmware and it works great...

edit: I am a firm believer in running a good strong battery to eliminate cogging..
