I have a question about the low voltage cutoff on an ESC. I am using a E-flite 40 amp pro switch mode ESC and a 3-cell Li-Po battery pack. It says the low voltage cutoff for a 3-cell is 9Volts. Does this mean when the batteries get down to 9volts the ESC stops supplying power to motor and is only supplying power to the receiver and servos? I ask this because I want to make the switch from 72mhz to 2.4ghz and I know the 2.4ghz stuff has had some problems when the voltage drops to low. I think the 2.4ghz(Spektrum/JR) needs at least 3.5volts to operate.

Thanks,
Tony

the short answer to your question is "Yes." Spectrum (and I think JR) have upgrade their recievers to avoid this problem and you can buy a plug in capacitor for older 2.4 systems. Or you can use a separate rx battery
