All Tanked Up,
After your first post I never doubted for a second that you would be one of the "stand up guys" to show your support for Willy. I'm just curious how many others there would be if it really came down to it, and people's personal projects might become more challenging without Impact parts.

The question is....does Willy even want to deal with IMPACT again? After reading what he posted, it seems like he's tired from all the BS and "politics" that goes on in this hobby. Can't really blame him. A hobby is supposed to be an enjoyable, leisurely thing.

And if IMPACT does re-instate him, he will still have to deal with the same people who according to you guys, abide by the "Chinese/Asian Business Ethics 101" (kinda racist, and prejudiced, but let's not get into that.)

Maybe the best bet is for him to design his own superior product that can blow IMPACT's TU out of the water? Judging from his many previous customers' responses, Willy's a very talented individual that can certainly do this.

Although I haven't dealt with Willy, I'll back anybody who sells a product and makes sure it works properly before he sends it to you or can help me with questions I may have about that product. This kind of service is all too rare in a lot of today's dealers/ I want to "enjoy" my hpbby not fight with people who are only interested in making a fast buck and don't really care about anything beyond getting your money......!

Hi googlydoogly,

You not only have a difficult time with WWII content/facts, you now have completely missed the point in this thread.

Race and Prejudice is not the issue that "herrmill" raised, it is a question of Impact's business integrity and ethics standards.

I believe no one cares how the Impact Company is comprised in regards to their national status, race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, and religion.

Those are the key words the constitute racist and prejudice behavior in the USA.

Impact's parts are superb, irregardless of Impacts, alleged, disappointing management style and, alleged, questionable ethics.

Poor management style and lousy ethics are independent matters from race issues and race prejudices.

Questioning Impact's business values, or lack thereof, demonstrates ones high regard for fair business dealings and practices, regardless of a companies and or ones national status, race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, and religion.

All in all you may be a good guy, but you write like a jerk.

John

Hi there, I don't exactly know why you're bringing that subject up in this thread, but....

Since you ran away like a little girl from our discussions about that certain historical accuracy thing, you have no cojones to talk about who's having a difficult time comprehending simple historical facts that a simple research couldn't find out on your own. (The 503 tanks were shipped off to the Ardennes? In September? When combat units who actually FOUGHT in the Ardennes didn't get their tanks until late October/November..and as late as December... )

Go to Missing-Lynx.com, where many experts on that field hang out. Tell them your fantastic assertion that the ambush camo was specifically done for the Ardennes offensive. And let's see how long it is before they started laughing. Hell, tell them that those King Tigers from the 0famous Von Rosen/503 propaganda film were shipped off to the Ardennes Offensive. That'll be adorable!

Here's a thought, how about backing up what you say with proof, rather than simply telling someone they don't know what they're talking about? Because lo and behold, just because you say something, that doesn't make it true.

Of course, you'd just probably hike up your skirt, and huffily say "I don't have time for you! I'm awesome!"

And to get back to the current topic.....Saying things like, IMPACT sucks and that they have no business ethics because they follow "Asian/Chinese Business Ethics 101" isn't remotely racist/prejudiced to you?

Amen! Couldn't agree with you more! If you have a beef with Impact, that's fine and dandy, because from the looks of things, they deserve it.

But don't be surprised if someone thinks that it's racist and prejudiced when you basically called IMPACT unethical BECAUSE they go by some, "Asian/Chinese Business Ethics 101."

Nice try at playing the race card, but you failed because your emotions block the clarity of your words

Also, you won't beat a "swift boat style assault" though. LOL. And who said Impact sucks, only you so far and why would you do that? I buy their parts, do you?

Asian business practices are very different than USA biz practices and that is what the previous Impact FL vendor pointed out. A USA Vendor most often gets 2 or 3 written letters of warnings before termination, for example.

If you think that a lack of biz integrity is a racial issue, instead of a business education/experience problem, that is clearly your ignorance and lack of education/experience in biz and perhaps in dealing with Asian based corporations. Some Asian corporations keep the ethics bar very high and others not so much, just like the rest of the world. But Chinese biz corruption is really notorious, watch CNN once in awhile or the Chinese News Channel. They execute corrupt Chinese biz people and there have been many executions this past year.

The other topic as I recall was ambush paint patterns and it was evident you did not know what that was and why it was created by German color techs due to the forced change in German panzer tactics, after their complete defeat in France, due to Allied Air Superiority over the ETO.

Could care less about the movement of KTs (said the film clip was used for propaganda efforts to support the Ardennes Offensive and "did not write the unit filmed went to the Ardennes", you wrote that, content, comprehension difficulties again!) and again those are your statements not mine, but fighting in Hungry went from late Sept and over lapped the Ardennes Offensive, so KTs were being shuttled from one front to another. Not much to discuss with you, other than check your facts and stay on point my friend. Also most Ardrennes purposed KTs never made it out of their stagging area according to German Army records, so they deployed elsewhere.

At least you make the forum interesting, though not to inaccurate. All in all it seems your mostly dishonest with your words and the logic to them is jumbled and or missing, or maybe, is it, that, what you write and post is a Google translation from some form of Chinese?

Enjoy your nice macho toy tanks, la cojones.

Best Regards, John

Um..my bad....I guess you people calling IMPACT unethical, or you saying that they're "far from good guys" made me think that IMPACT as a company sucks.

How could I *possibly* made that mistake? Woe is me.

And it's hilarious that you'd be willing to support Asian companies that according to you, have shady business practices...like Tamiya and Impact. That shows how big your integrity is.

ZOMG THEY ARE HORRIBLE....But I like tanks so I'll keep sending money.

quote:

Oh really....well let's look at your "Greatest Hit" then!

quote:

That is a b/w propaganda photo/newsreel film out take (you posted) used to show King Tigers shipping off to the Ardennes Offensive.

Wrooooongg......and...

quote:

but fighting in Hungry went from late Sept and over lapped the Ardennes Offensive,

Since you claim to have *all* the Tiger books, may I suggest you read more about the fighting in Hungary? It was quite ferocious and scary. The Germans certainly didn't transfer tanks from Hungary to Belgium because they CANNOT afford to. And why should they? Why disengage a unit already in combat to strip them of their tanks, potentially destabilizing the front, when they could simply give the awaiting units in the Ardennes tanks that just left the factories?

But hey, if you have proof otherwise, I'd love to see it.

And...I actually know about the reason why the German invented the ambush camo. That's why I agreed with you when you said it a while back. But nowhere was it ever said or written that camo was specifically done for the Ardennes offensive.

And once again...show proof that the 503's King Tigers were taken away from them while they're knee-deep in Soviet armor and transferred to the Ardennes....a credible book passage...some German memo...anything...

I'm waiting....

Still waiting....

*crickets chirping*

Ahhh..I hate waiting. I'll just watch a movie then. Keep putting your foot in your mouth. And btw, if you want, I could make a thread in Missing-Lynx and tell them about all of your assertions here. And I could post what they say here...what do you say?

Oh btw...the ambush camo was introduced in August 1944....when the Germans were still in France.

Guys, STOP ! This was a thread about IMPACT and Willy Loewer being removed as their USA distribitor. Please stop now or this whole thread will be pulled and then what ? Enough name calling and everything else. If you can't talk civil, then just dont. That's not a hard thing to do. Or start your own thread about King Tigers, patterns or whatever and do that there, PLEASE.

OK, I know for a fact there is quality issues with the Impact TU's. At least the ones for the KT. I have gone through four with a total of an hour run time. The first two, one striped the gears between the output shaft gear and its mating gear. The other I don't know what happened half the gears turned while the others stayed put. The second set again stripped gears between the output shaft gear and its mating gear, but after about 15 min. of running. Now my third set again the same stripped gears plus a bearing flange failed. I have pictures and e-mails to ETO backing this up. If Willy was pushing a quality issue he had good cause. I know I am not the only one who had these fail. I took them to a friend who is a retired aerospace machinist and he found the output shaft was to far forward on the last two that failed. This caused excessive back lash in the gears. What ever is used to drill the holes was off. He also noted other things, but this was the main fault. ETO has tried to help rectify this problem. Even had Impact send the last set that failed from them. He can only do so much too! Funny thing is that the last set lasted the shortest and had the most failures. I think Impact should take Willy's help as constructive and not as a threat. As of right now I am leery of buying Impact TU's until they can prove they are as bullet proof as they state. The stock TU's run fine, just wanted that gear reduction. I have talked to Willy several times and all he wants to do is spread his findings or improvements and make tanking that much more fun.

But we do battle on flat carpet grass. Would lik eto see it just in case I ever want to get a set of Impact TUs for myself in near future.
