I am getting my first gasser put together and I need something to fill the tank up with and have not decided what to get. I have seen the Abell and Jeresy fuelers but I was wondering if there was anything different out there.

Let me know if you have any ideas and/or pics of you set up.

Thanks

Hi,

Check out Dubro's refueler valve. mounts through the side of the fuse, it's hooked up between the tank and carb. I use their pump fueling station and it works really well and not very expensive.

depends on the size of the plane....

when I just had a 50cc size... a Hanger 9 Ultra pump (hand crank) is fine....

when I made the switch to 150cc size....

I made my own electric pump setup......
Sig Gas Passer pump..
12v hobby battery
and a Radio Shack DPDT switch wired up to fill or empty....

I just can't justify over $200 for a gas can when you can make something yourself that works perfectly... and has for a couple years now......

Get a 2.5 gallon gas jug from your local hardware store. Then get a Dubro or Hanger9 gas compatible hand crank pump. From tower find and order the hardware to make your own refueling tank. You need a clunk, about 3 feet of tygon 1/8" fuel line, and the 1/8" fitting that passes your pick up line through the can. Dubro makes a nice set if you don't want to make your own. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD708&P=0

I'm using exactly the same setup as Exeter, except an "old" TX pack at 9.6v is powering the Sig pump. Counting the switch, the whole setup was less than $40, including the gas jug. And I didn't "need" electric pump until the 100cc. THEN, the cranking grew VERY tiresome.

RC:

I just got my first 50cc gas engine and made my own filler system. I bought a good 1.5 gallon gas jug. This size is big enough and gives you many refills without lugging around a bigger container. I bought a Dubro fill connector, drilled out the gas container filler cap and attached the fill connector. I then got a good filtering clunk for the container. I bought a Dubro hand crank pump for gas and put an in-line fuel filter on the tubing. Make sure you use gas rated tubing as silicone tubing will not work. When I was done assembling all of this, I had spent less than $50 for the container, clunk, filter, hand pump, and tubing and it looked and functioned just like the Jersey container.

Agreed. That is "the" solution (cheap) for 50cc gassers. Did mine that way for years. The MPI "gas/glow" hand crank lasts forever.
