hey, im installing my new jammin jpx .21 engine. and im putting the clucth shoes on, but the springs dont fit in the little crevess thing in the clutch nut. ( i got the clucth nut when i baught my car, it came with soem extras.) i dont think the clutch nut is the right shape or size or whatver. the clutch shoe springs are up to high, instead of fitting in the middle of the clutch nut where its suppose to. the clutch nut is kind of shaped like a bullet.

is this what i need?

what are the silver things that come with that one? what are they for? i noticed alot of clutch nute come with like a shaft, all i have is the nut. do i need the shaft part? i dont understand what its for. let me know if you dont understand what im talking about..and ill try to get a picture.

It sounds like you have a mugen flywheel nut. Yes the Ofna should work with the Jammin engine.

omg, i never knew it was that hard to put a clutch assembly together. lol is there a way to tighten the clutch nut withought having the pistion move? i cant get the flywheel tight because the pilot shaft just turns and cant get the flywheel tight.

a Zip tie through the exhaust port ushally works for a sticky crank nut.....a flywheel wrench will be of No use in this situation rpg711.

you can get a piston locking tool or you could use channel locks to grab the flywheel and then tighten the nut

no, a flywheel tool, or grabbing the flywheel will not work in this situation. what i mean is...the pilot shaft is turning but the flywheel is not stuck on the collet (however its spelled) so it doesnt do any good to hold the flywheel because the pilot shaft just turns the pistion withought even tightning the nut. its kind of hard to explain.

but anyway..
INTEGRA..how would i go about a zip tie through the exhaust port?

It actualy sounds like you either need a new collet or you need to shim it.

U guys dont have a CLUE....the nut is sticking on the crank and NOT allowing him to tighten down the nut....so holding the flywheel will do him NO GOOD if there isnt anything holding the flywheel to the crank..IE the collet......Townsley...take a big ziptie and stuff it in the exhause port and close it on the tie....then go ahead and tighted the nut as needed....he DOES NOT need a New collet or need to shim anything if not needed.

o and BTW piston locking Tools ARE NOT i repeat NOT for removing the flywheel or the nut....all they do is transfer the stress on to more delicate parts...like the con rod and bushing....i would advise Against a piston locking tool.

hey thanks integra. i will have to try that. so do i just take one end of a big zip tie and shove it in the echaust port and then crank the nut? will it damage the piston any? sounds harsh but i guess it could work. thanks for the info

ive snapped off the heads of Ties before with the exhaust port...I would'nt be too worried...Just DO NOT rely on the tie to crank down the nut...use some channel locks and do it properly.

I thought he was trying to get the clutch nut on and the flywheel was spinning the pilot shaft? no?

This says that he wants to tighten the clutch nut without having the piston move, easilly done with a flywheel wrench holding the flywheel and then just using a normal wrench to tighten nut.
INtegra you wrong... hehe
