I bought another OS .61 SF, no box though. how do i tell if it's an abc vs ringed?

look inside the exaust port; if you see a small band around the top of the piston about 1/16 in thick, that is the ring. If you see the same material top to bottom of the piston it is ABC.

The ABC engine also has a line at the top edge of the piston but the ringed engine band is wider.

either way it is in almost new condition. it came with a nice balanced spinner and 2 mufflers. not bad for $80.

thanks david. my understanding of everyone's description was correct. the sf is ringed. i know now that a couple of rf's i have are ABC. i bought them not knowing.
