I am looking at buying some new 6-cell NiMH batteries. What are the best batteries out there? I am not racing, so I just want good performance, good longevity, and good prices. I am loking for something at least 4200 Mah capacity. Tenergy, Elite, Intellect, Max Amps, Sanyo.....there is just too many choices. Has there been any comparisons done.

Joe

Venoms seem to be okay. I've seen the best results with the Dynamite speed pack. It has 6 Intellect 4200mah cells. The power is more than a comparable venom and the run time is about 5-10min longer than a comparable venom. Anything with IB cells will be a good bet, and they're usually only 5-10 bucks more for a pack.

I would hope to be in the $30-$40 range.

On eBay, a vendor is selling the Tenergy 4500 mAh packs for 2 for $54 or so. I picked up a couple and they're pretty good. I also have Elite 4500s and a few other brands of IB 4200 and other. If price is an issue, you probably will be best off with the Tenergy deal for 2 packs. Elite 4000 from CheapBatteryPacks could be good - they also have a 4600 and 5000 mAh models out now.

Duratrax makes some very nice 6-cell side by side packs.

I just purchased a used Traxxas Stampede with dean style connector and have been searching for a few 3500+ batteries.

I am glad I read about Tenergy sucking, but have any of you heard of PoweriZer (on batteryspace.com)? They seem to have a good price, but I know you usually get what you pay for.

I am looking for something that will give me 20 min or so of riding in the yard and I don't what the hassle of LiPo.
I own a Black Widow Peak Charger (2a or 4a).

My primary Q's:
What brands should we focus on when battery shopping?
What stores have the best prices/deals?

Thanks
Joe

I also have had great results with custom packs from www.cheapbatterypacks.com . Good products, prices, and service.
