Can the prop stud be unscrewed from the engine without removing the prop hub?? Other question about the prop stud, are the threads going into the engine threaded normally, in orther words, to unscrew you turn the stud counter clockwise (when viewed from front) or are the threads reversed such that turning it counter clockwise for instance, it would actually tighten rather than loosen it? Lastly, what is the easiest way to unthread the stud - grab the non-threaded portion with pliers or such? Thanks.

Take the spark plug out...Put some rope in the cylinder..Grab the stud with Vise Grip pliers...Normal thread, CCW to unscrew...Heat the hub with a propane torch, tap it sideways with a hammer handle...
Reverse to install...Easy on the tightening, the stud is only 6mm on the end and has been known to break off flush with the end of the crank...
