ESC's

Mamba Max w/ bec
Mamba Monster Max w/o bec

Motors:

9xl
8xl
10xl
Neu
Feigao
Monster motor when it comes out

Combo's:

Mamba monster combo when it's released
Hv maxx

The cheapest would be a Mamba with a bec and one of the xl's.

thx

whats bec?

battery eliminating circuit.

it's needed for the Mamba max and not needed for the mamba monster. a mamba max with a bec ($20) is still cheaper then the stock mamba monster max.

The only issue is that the e-savage in stock form will not hold a xl motor(its too long) the poplar motor on e-savage forms is the 9L. I use it also and it runs great with 4s2p lipos. You can flip the tranny around to make the xl motors work but the diffs, slipper, and driveshafts will not hold up long to the abuse from the extra torque. The novak hv motors put out alot less torque than an xl motor so if you go that route it will save your drivetrain(you still have to flip the tranny around to get it to fit)

Man, that really sucks...

Good to know, though.

no the 540s motor ar to small . you need the 540L motors(60mm). Go to http://e-savage.com/ They have every thing you need to know about the e-savage.

That esc will work fine

Its a 32pitch spur and pinion. The pinoin I would buy a 18 and 19 tooth. Start with the 18 and see how it its and if temps will allow go to the 19 tooth.

Castle make a great ubec. Its voltage can be adjusted too(I have mine at 7 volts) and it can handle 10amps. Seems to be the best deal out right now.

If you are going to use nimh batteries make sure you have some good ones b/c it will make all the diffence in the world. Two 7 cell batteries will make it run really well too!(just a thought , I run mine on two 2s lipos)

I have a 7xl in my e-revo right now(until the castle monster max combo comes out). It runs good but I cant keep the temps in check. Motor runs 200*F+. The e-maxx and e-revo need a bigger motor b/c they are bigger than the e-savage(by alot, you should see the two next to each other) If I could get the e-savage to handle the extra torque of the xl motors I would get a road boy extended chassis and put it in.
