Against my buddy that runs an RC8 with a Dynamite .21xp. We raced in the parking lot at our track about the length of a football field. We got 1 good run WOT and I pulled him pretty much the whole way. Even launched harder but there different buggys so thats not really comparable.

As far as details go, Were both using Byrons 25%. I'm using 11% oil he's using 9%. He has a 7.5mm venturi I have an 8. Temps were both around 210-220. I also had wheel spin in the beginning due to bald tires.

Anyway, just thought some people would like a direct comparison to another engine.

Not much of a "direct comparison " . Different buggies , different tune , different drivers , different oil %s , and so on .

Yes but like some guys always say my mustang is faster than your camaro and vice versa. Not a direct comparison but the winner always says he won. I am glad that GO kept up and probably beat it. You won and thats what counts regardless of who had what. 2nd place is the first loser!

What does that have to do with anything? Its pretty much just mash the throttle and try to keep it straight. As far as the different oil %, I think that shows that I should have been at a disadvantage.

I don't know, how much of a difference does a 2% "difference" in oil content make??

Set up, not just engine alone, is just as important in drag racing as off-road racing. Clutch shoes, pipe, fuel type and percentages, traction, drive train resistance, overall weight, reciprocating weight, on and on, along with an engine that can deliver the power. But you obviously had the better over all set up, good job!

But beware, the Dynamite .21-XP makes good power too. So if your friend starts working on his buggy, like changing clutch type or springs, different pipe, or whatever, you may have to work to defend your title.

It was a one time deal, I think... Just wanted to compare. But yea, the Xp impressed me for as much as I don't know about it.

To you peg the throttle "to go faster" or do you roll it?

In what instance? In a parking lot with 99% traction? I stab it. On the track? It all depends on what the buggy is doing... I start by cracking the throttle open, if it hooks up I usually stab it and go. If it doesn't hook up right away then I'll roll on it. This largely depends on the track too. My home track is very loose so it requires a very smooth hand. But on a high bite track I can just pin it most of the time and let the Losi do what it does.
