Hello everyone,

I want to train my kids and have 2 planes in mind

1) Hangar 9 Arrow .40 (HAN2625)

http://www.hangar-9.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN2625

ENGINE : Evolution .46NT
Semi-symmetrical wing

Wingspan: . . . . . . . 63 in (1600mm)
Length: . . . . . . . . 52.5 in (1334mm)
Wing Area: . 710 sq in (45.8 sq dm)
Weight: . . . . . . . . . . . 5.7 lb (2.6 kg)

OR

2) Hobbico's Hobbistar 60 (HCAA18)

http://www.hobbico.com/airplanes/hcaa18.html

ENGINE : O.S. .65 LA
Semi-symmetrical wing

Wingspan: 71 in (1805 mm)
Length: 55 in (1400 mm)
Wing Area: 888 in² (57 dm²)
Weight: 7.5-8.5 lb (3.4-3.9 kg)

I want to have some fun with the plane myself and wonder which
would have the power to pull out of slow inverted flight better?

Also any quality differences between Hobbico and Hangar 9?

I have a PULSE XT right now and LOVE IT !!

THANKS

Joe

I can see bigger planes better, so, I like the Hobbistar.

edited to add:
I had a Hobbistar MKII and it was well built. The only negative is that it was covered in "shelf paper" type covering rather than iron-on. The current model description says "durable, heat shrink film" so that issue appears to be fixed.

Hello guys,

About the Hobbico's Hobbistar 60 covering, I have found out that it is NOT monokote, so that is OUT

I saw a video of the Hangar 9 Arrow .40 flying down the runway Upside down Very slow, looked real nice!!, video is on hangar 9 site

http://www.hangar-9.com/ProdInfo/Files/Hangar9_Arrow_40_320x480_bb.wmv

Then I saw a youtube video of it flying it's Ass off and I was SOLD

(for the $129 if my kids break it no big deal)

I have a PULSE XT right now and LOVE IT !! (will not train my kids on it, It's my baby)

Here is the best video of the PULSE XT (dead stick at 70 Mph on end of video)
