Hell you know me... if imma do it, imma do it right. So full litho-plate surface detail, scale surface hinging, and since it'll be all composite, Re-doing the spar design, so the leading edge flaps can be integrated is a must have! Now just gotta get some $$$ to buy another bug kit. lol

OOOOOOOH THOMAS.....the way you make it sound, i may not even sart the glassing process on my foam wings....;-).. How would you incorporate the wing spars to peoples planes that already have the bulkheads/receivers installed??? Please dont tell me i would have to grind that s#it out!!

The front spar would either need a "bend" in it, or would have to incorporate a forward spar (b/c of the leading edge flaps). I think a "shorty" would be best and easiest, as with a carbon laminated balsa/spruce forward spar you could put the necessary bend into the spar, then laminate carbon on both sides of the spar (overall 2 pieces, then a piece of carbon cloth in the skin). Then make a "box" spar that goes from the full span of each wing panel and the "bend" about 1/4 to 1/2" behind the leading edge flap seam line (there would need to be 2 "oval" shaped cutouts in the forward box spar for the leading edge flap linkage, but they wouldn't be very large, and i personally dont think would hurt the structural integrety at all). Then have a shorty aluminum spar (that uses G-10 sheets as a spacer) glued in between this forward box spar. The rear spar would be the same but the box portion wouldn't extend the full span of the wing panel. it would only go about as far as the aluminum receiver goes.
Using the G-10 spacers would allow enough adjustment for those who already have built airframes to fine tune the new wing panels to fit their particular bulkheads..

Make sense?

Dave,
it would be the whole she-bang.. Wings, stabs/elevators, fins/rudders.. everything that is sheeted foam core now would become composite. How's the 2 seater coming?
