Well i got a slow start due to one of my taps breaking off in my stab horn so i started and finished (mostly) the nose gear install. I just finished aeropxying n the stab bulkheads. Hey all you guys that have built it, did you glass the fuse-bulkhead joint as well as hysol/aeropoxy?? This will be a somewhat slow build due to me having to fly for work alot nowadays, but i will try to post as much as possible. Nick

Dude, Thomas, those mo-fo's are tighter than crap. I tried to get them around the rims today, and they wouldnt budge. I am sure you have a good fix for this. Did you sand off any of the concrete-hard rubber or what?? Hope all is well in Australia. Fly safe man.

Nick,
yea the rubber compound ended up getting harder than what they told me along w/ them "shrinking" slightly more then what i was told to expect as well.. but the plus size is, they will never wear out and they wont ever slip on the rim.

To get the fit a lil bit better, I believe a paper towel or bathroom tissue roll w/ a wrap of 60 grit sandpaper will lossen them up a bit. you can also try soaking them in hot water to get them to expand a bit as well.

Ok, i have been working on the fins the last few times out in the shop. I got 1.5 of the 2 fins done, hinged, glued and shaped. The hinge covers are all thats left on this fin. It isnt a HARD build, but a tidious one. Heres some pix. I am hoping to get alot accomplished this week, as i will be in and out of work, solots of spare time. Nick

Ok, so i got the intakes to shape, sanded and installed and the glue is curing. The wings i started on the spar filler blocks, those are shaped and the spars i am starting to shape the last 2 inches of the front. These are a P.I.T.A TO grind down, any ideas besides the obvious=dremel? This week was supposed to be my full out work week on the bug, but the scheduler felt the need to schedule me for Simulators yesterday and today!!! kinda messes up the work time alotted

Behing the Bug is the wifeys b-day gift to me, a BV Ultra viper kit. This thing is like 12 years old but in awesome shape, better than alot of the glass work out there today. Nick
