ya ok so i just bought a brand new 18t at my lhs.

so i get and i go to my friends track and we go and drive on it and by the first battery the 2 left side shocks were leaking so i was mad.

i just got done doing a late night run on the street and the front right shock went out and now is leaking.

so im just waiting for the right rear shock to go.

the little cupling on the slider fell down so im guessing thats te problem...

just wondering if any of you have had this problem, and maybe suggest a new set for me to

thanks,
brian

I run the 3racing shocks, they seem to be pretty good

Better than the GPM's, dont buy those

I had the same problem with my 18B. I just snapped the cups back into place, and filled with oil and all is good. Havent had an issue since.

Yep get the 3 Racing , best ones I have ran and they dont leak at all .

Plus you can buy rebuild kits for them .

I broke that little bottom cap on my first run

Dont get the AE factory Team shocks either cause they use the same little plastic cap too .

The stock shocks should have lasted longer than that, but no, they aren't the best. I actually like the FT shocks. The bottom piece has never popped off on any of the 8 FT shocks I have. They last much longer, and they are adjustable. The rtr shock is the same thing, but the body is plastic to save on money. If you replaced them with the aluminum bodies, you would have a great set of shocks.

GPM is one of those companies that has many different versions of their shocks. I have bought 3 different versions of their shocks for the rc18, in pairs, and they are all horrible. I have a set for my mini-t that are great though.

Also, what size track are you driving on? You have to remember that these are 1/18 cars. If you are launching them 5-10 feet into the air and landing on flat ground, the seals are going to blow.

im just running on a little tiny track in my frineds yard we tilled up. its just an oval with a double double and just a jump on the other lane. the straights are about um...10-15 feet and were only going about 8 inchs to 1 ft of air so i dont think its the track...maybe just a bad set of shocks

Yes, I totally agree. the GPMs are pretty bad.. they don't compress smoothly and don't "dampen" nearly as well as the 3racing.. the 3racing are just the way to go.. the only weak spot on them is the top plastic cap that snaps over the ball-stud can crack if hit hard.. but you can get replacement parts for that pretty easy.. though, I wish 3racing would include an extra one of two of those with the shock set.

I have also seen some people install the stock shocks up-side-down to lower the center of gravity and I guess also stop the leaking.. I guess you could try that if you want to keep the stockers.
