I stored my Hobbyzone Supercub over winter, probably with empty batteries, and now neither battery will hold a charge. Same thing happened to another one when I lost my plane in a field for 2 months, then the farmer found it and the battery only lasted for about 5 minutes.

Is there anything that can be done to resurrect them, or do I have to buy new ones?

Thanks

Try charging at a very low rate overnight. This will probably restore them enough to accept the usual rapid charging. Nimh naturally self-discharge at a fairly high rate. If they are allowed to get too low, rapid charging may not complete properly. I hope you can recover your packs.

Took the plane out today - one lasted about 5 minutes, the other over 10 minutes, I gave up and landed it after a while. So, one battery is completely fixed by a slow charge - I used the lowest setting on the charger - the other half fixed, I will give it another slow charge.

So, thanks very much for the tip - it was so nice to take her out again, many thanks!

Thanks very much for the progress report. I was interested to see how it would work out and glad it was successful. I use Nimh cells in my transmitters, and they have worked very well, even after long periods of inactivity. Enjoy your future flights!

No problems, thanks again for the tip - saved me a few quid and things are very tight right now! She's ready for a weekend camping trip and I found a top flygin spot near my new house as a bonus.

Cheers.

Another method i use is to make sure i drain the battery well before charging. Try it.
