hi guys i just replaced my spur gear on my t-maxx with the same stock part and on the first tank of fuel it has stripped again. This is the second time and I am really annoyed. my spur also seems to be wonky or off center. I made sure my gear mesh was adjusted properly but still the gear stripped. Also what should be the slipper nut adjustment because i did it 1/8th turn out from totally in. So can someone please help me out here.

Here's a link to show you how off center the spur gear is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzOnfayl2hU

How are the slipper pegs? Have you checked the bell clutch bearings? How about the metal spacer that the spur gear mounts on. Did your motor mount move? Are the motor mount screws still tight? And last but not least, and with all due respect, are you buying cheap spur gears or traxxas stock parts? There will be one common factor that is causing this, it'll take some time but we'll figure it out sooner or later.

Sounds to me like ur gear mesh is not set properly, which is probably the most likely cause for stripping the spur gear(s). To set the mesh properly, try this which should solve ur problem: take a sheet of paper and slip it between the clutch bell and the spur gear, then line up the end of the clutch bell and push the engine toward the spur gear until the clutch bell lines up with spur; keep pushing it toward the spur and spin the cb with ur finger; it should spin freely with little play. The spur gear should also spin freely. Hope this helps out some..

yh i actually hit something just before it stripped so the engine mount mayhave come loose. and aslo the spu is off center as when i spin it connected to the clutch bell there is more friction on one part of the spur when i spin it. so its off centre and i need to correct that. how do i do it???
