When I was flying JR radios, my PCM 10SX came with a nice , COMFORTABLE cloth neck strap. When I went to the 9Z in 2002, I didn't like the wide nylon strap provided, and bought a nice wide cloth one, similar to the JR offering (with a heavy duty snap attachment), from a vendor of helicopter stuff. Very soft, very comfortable.

Well, that thing has taken a walk. I have recently gotten back into flying, and I simply cannot find that cloth strap. Naturally, the nylon one is right there...

I have seen a Futaba orange/black cloth strap that is exactly what I'm looking for; but was told it is for "team" pilots only. We certainly wouldn't want anyone to confuse me with a Futaba team pilot, now, would we?

Anyone got any ideas? I did a quick "search", and the few I've run across seem to have junk attachment hardware.

I use a padded saxaphone neck strap on my 9C. You can get them at just about any music store, and they aren't too expensive.

Neck straps seem to be a fashion thing around here. That is, a fashion thing with the kids. They wear them with their car keys and maybe an ID of some sort. Last time I was in a mall I noticed a number of kids swaggering along wearing them. And noticed one of the kiosks had the straps for sale. They had a number of different mfg's straps. Like BMW and Porsche and Nikon. I looked at them for TX use, btw, and was looking for the softer ones too. Coincidence.....

You might check out camera shops too.

Camera stores is an excellent idea. You may have to rig the attachment point to work on the XMTR but you'll find a very comfortable strap.

I have another problem since converting to 2.4 GHz. My Jr X9303 XMTR is way out of balance because it doesn't have the long antenna. The out-of-balance is distracting as the devil! I had heard of an adaptor that somhow fits between the XMTR attachment point and the strap clip, and corrects the balance problem. But I haven't found one anywhere.

The distraction is so bad for me that I've taken to using a XMTR tray like they use in Europe. It's kind of nice but bulky.

It has nothing to do with the antenna. Every JR transmitter I've handled has had the strap attachment point way too far above the CG of the box. I experienced this out-of-balance problem with a PCM 10SX some 15 years ago. The fix was a simple adapter, which attached to the existing point and moved it down; just like the factory part seen in this thread.

I wish I could remember the guy's name, but the first time I saw this was on a PCM 10 SX belonging to a heli pilot who was also pretty good with gas engines. He was a 727 mechanic in real life, and used the strut end from an access hatch support from that airplane to make his strap attachment mod. I took a photo and had my machinist buddy fabricate one.

In the ensuing years, I saw several different versions of this modification; lots of folks, like us, were aggravated at this imbalance deal; and I know a lot of us complained to JR about it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they haven't "fixed" this yet...

Makes you wonder if they even listened, or just don't care.

Thanks. That's interesting. This X9303 is my first JR XMTR. I've always used Futabas, but I got tired of waiting for them to release a decent 2.4. At any rate, I ordered the Horizon Hobbies adaptor. Thanks again.
