I have a BME 44 with CH Ignition that has run flawlessly for years. Yesterday, the engine suddenly lost it's top end and wouldn't advance past the midrange. Thinking that something got plugged in the Walbro carb, I disassembled it, cleaned it out and installed new float and gasket kit and filter.

Started up the engine, seemed fine, and then it resorted back to the same problem. When I advance the throttle past midrange, it starts to miss and won't spool up.

Anyone else had this problem. Could my CH ignition module have gone bad.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the tank? Maybe the clunk is clogged? Or bad lines in the tank?

Also load test your battery, make sure it is charged and up to snuff.

What RTK said. . Could/might be a voltage issue.
