I have been working on a motor glider project for a while, but I haven't touched it in years. Just now I decided to finally finish it. I have to figure out what do do with the radio setup because I only have 2 channel radios

Basically the motor and ESC are from a Great Planes Electro Streak that I totaled. It's a 550 motor. I had used a 2100mah nicd battery previously which worked well, but I don't have it anymore. I am thinking NiMH now and also I need a charger. Here's what I have in mind:

Will those work? Keep in mind I am on a relatively small budget.


Here are some pictures of what I have currently. Help me out with how to set this thing up?

PS: I have a small ~600mah 8.4v battery now which dies after about 30 seconds of running the motor, but even when it's fully charged, the motor doesn't run like it used to. What could be the problem?
