I've ben in to boating for most of my life, mostly just performace boats that is. I grew up on one of NY's best finger lakes, Keuka lake, and used to run my first electric boats then moved into nitro boats, also used to run in IMPBA for alot of years. Growin up all we had was 18' 4 cyl bowrider Maxum...not much fun. Now i own a 1986 21' Checkmate Enchanter with a 350 Chevy small block. It'll run around 65 mph and turns alot of heads thanks to the straight thru-hull exhuast. I'm a huge performance boat enthusiast, anyone else here into/own some fast boats?? Let's here about them!

Thats a cool toy man, those little bass boats can really scoot! Yeah the I/O powered Enchanter is kinda rare, there's alot of the outboard versions out there, i know a several just in my area, but the I/O's are a little more far and between. There happens to be another I/O Enchanter up on the lake where i keep my boat, but i've never seen another one in person. It's a fun boat and i have no intentions of gettin rid of it anytime soon!

My little Sea Ray

Looking at the truck windshield, guess you now know where I got my screen name from! Had that name for years and the truck sees a lot of car shows.

I dont have pics, but we have a 1996 Ranger 19.5' fish/ski boat with a Mercury Mariner EFI 200 outboard, and a Hi-Five Stainless prop. My Grandpa bought it new in 1996, and paid a poo load of $$ for it. back then, it was one of the biggest boats on the water. We just got back from table rock lake, where we did a speed run with the GPS and got it up to 54.8 with a full tank of gas... It rode smooth too!

My little SuperBoat

24' Step bottom, room for two to sleep in cabin. Last sunday we did a round trip run of 108 miles to the east end of Long Island NY .
Didn't do to bad on fuel, I tried to keep speeds under 50 MPH.
She has a 496 ci Merc 425 HP I/O Bavo One. tops out at 78.9 with two on board and full tank of gas 60 gallons.

I was in high school, my dad was the Crew Chief, so he did a lot of the hull and cockpit work. I did more busy work, like running to get tools and cleaning things, etc. I also held the boat at the dock or in the water before and after the heats. If I hadn't moved half way across the country I would still be helping them out, it was a lot of fun just being around the boats, working on them and talking to guys I grew up idolizing (Chip Hannaur, Ron Jones, etc.).

Thats a fun boat. Late '80s a buddy had one with a 140 Johnson (115 hood) and it was stupid fun (if there is such a phrase) . This thing would hang out on the last bit of the pad and flat scoot for such a small rig.
