The folks at Hobby People are now offering two receivers with the purchase of the new Airtronics RDS8000 2.4Ghz FHSS radio system:

http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/751710.asp

You get the RDS8000 2.4Ghz FHSS transmitter with two 94824 2.4Ghz 8-channel full range receivers, transmitter battery, wall charger, and power switch all for $229.99. The radio system is now available in Mode 1 or Mode 2.

If you haven't yet read RC Ken's terrific review of the RDS8000, you can read it here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=995

The RDS8000 is an amazing value, and getting a second receiver at no extra charge is like Christmas in July!

Yes, they are working on severel new receivers. One of which will be designed for small park flyer type planes.

The regular 8-channel full range receiver weighs in at around 17 grams and is small enough to be used in all but the smallest indoor foamies. I think Mike Greenshields said it weighs around 11 grams with the case removed.

Airtronics has a 6-channel micro receiver in the works along with a RF Module for the Stylus radio system both expected out before the end of the year. They're also working on a higher-end 10 channel 2.4Ghz radio that is expected out in 2009.

Edit: I'm guessing the July 4th special was to clear out the last of Hobby People's single receiver radio packages in anticipation of marketing the new package with the bonus receiver.
