I have a Weedeater Featherlite 25cc and a Homelite 30cc. I'm thinking of building a plane similar to a Ultra Stick Lite. Which of these engines would be the better choice. I’m sure the Homelite 30cc would be stronger, but how much heavier would it be than the Featherlite 25cc? Also, I’ll probably go with a Gas/Glow setup with either of these engines. Thanks.

Can anyone give a weight comparison of a Weedeater Featherlite 25cc running gas/glow verses a Homelite 30cc running gas/glow? What about a power comparison between the two? Thanks.

That would be a close call to do. Depends on engine condition...prop...best carb...ect. If you got em free...try them both! Best Regards Capt,n

I would strongly put my vote in favor of the Homelite 30cc in this case. Slightly heavier than the Weedeater, but much more power.

BTW, I had a Homelite 30cc on an Ultra Lite Stik 120, and it flew great. It also had a smoke system on it. With all that weight up front, it still balanced fine with the elevator and rudder servos mounted in the rear near the vertical stab.

If its not a 25cc Homie but a 30cc....and put a Frank Bowman ring in it....I too very strongly say, go for the 30cc engine! Capt,n

I guess I was thinking more about the very latest/new model of the Featherlite. I seen one some place on a power product. It had a lot higher power rating for a 25cc engine. The name of the game now with some products is more power with less weight. Check at Low,s and look at some of the newer power products. Capt,n
