OK this is the set up I was told by Gary Preusse, who designed the Hawk. And it works for me.
Sponson with the turn fin on it 4 1/2" from the tub with a 1/4" toe-in at the front. Other sponson 5" from the tub.
This site may also help http://home.earthlink.net/~jpreusse/hawk/

When you get the boat setup right you will love it !!

Hi Mike
She's running GREAT, I messed up the other day and was running the ABC H-5 prop and hit a fountain mooring rope and put a MINOR bend in one of the prop blades. Also messed up the rudder a little but got it all fixed, no damage to the boat. I was surprised the brass shear bolt didn't break in the rudder, but it did bend a little, guess the mooring rope took most of the shock.
Still the fastest boat at my lake.

fatten the motor up, (provided its not over propped) a rich boat will always come back to shore, where as a lean boat will die.

Also check the pressure hose from the pipe, make sure it has no holes or cracks, one time mine was cracked and it did the same thing yours is going. No pressure and it will lean out soon as it hits the water.
