With your help I finished this plane off about 6 weeks ago.
I joined a club and started flying with an instructor.
Plane flys great, the only adjustment is one I just made to the throttle, seems the idle is a little high? the plane is coming in a little fast on landings. I wouldnt know as I havent landed it yet. Also the servo was going beyong full throttle and the cable was bending... I redid the linkage and used the DX6i to adjust throttle limit to 75%. this gives me full movement of the carb without any strain on the servo...I'll see how it works wednesday night....

I also adjusted the tracking of the front wheel.

Thunder tiger pro .36 on this 53" wingspan .25 size plane works out great...Plenty of power. hopefully I can get the idle down so she will come in a little slower?

Pretty much just been practicing the landing pattern up high. trying to get it over the runway.
Boss had me cut the power while up high and get a feel for its glide path.
I get a little nevouse that it will die at lowest throttle but boss says forward momentum will help keep the prop spinning... it shouldnt die...
Did a couple of loops last week...but have been playing it pretty safe so far.
I'm starting to get the " feel " of it though and I'm looking forward to playing around abit this week.

Havin a blast

Steve

I love posts like this. I'm glad you're having fun with your "new" airplane. The idle should be right around 2,000 RPM. If it's higher than 2,200 you may begin to have difficulty slowing down on approach. This, of course, is a generalization and depends on what prop you are using.

Yes, I'm looking for an "inexspensive" tach so I can check the prop speed.
I will prefer the tach over trying to judge by sound....
