I'm looking to buy a couple more nimh packs in the 4200-5000 mah range. I've been using 3 Trinity Reference packs but quickly realized that they are, CRAP. My brushless setup has pushed them to the limit so much that they got so hot that the cell wrap melted. I later learned from Castle that these packs are made with aluminum bars between the cells which has a very high resistance and just can't handle the draw that the brushless needs. On the other hand I have 2 3300 nimh packs that my uncle gave to me. These packs are totally rocking this setup. I'm getting very good run times and excellent punch with minimal heat. I have no idea what brand they are and all of my googling has yielded no info on them. The only thing I can go by is the label says 'Winner's Circle' and I can see the cells which are labeled as 'Titanium' from 'Pow Power'. Basically now I'm in the market for some good quality 6 or 7 cell packs in the 4200-5000 range that are easy on the wallet. Anyone have suggestions?

oh wait...a recent search did yield a result: http://www.amondotech.com/browseproducts/Titanium-NIMH-7.2V-3300mAh-(Stick-Pack)-New!.html These are the packs that I've had great results with.

Hey AquariunGuy,

I am also looking for some batteries but now I have extra time to search. I ordered 6 Tenergy 3800 NiMH in February and All-Battery just replaced all six with new ones. They also sent me four 4200s last month since they were out of the 3800s when I sent them in. I never formed the original batteries and I knew little about NiMH care and maintenance. These battteries are really inexpensive (2 for $40 w/free shipping) but I know they lack qualilty and construction.

Now that I know more about taking care of batteries, I'll see how well they last. For really good information on battery care, you have to check out this site:

For your brushless, I imagine that you will have to get a side by side style.

I think I'm going lipo very soon. I found a good deal on an Apache 2500 charger and I have a spare 350w PSU (pulled from old computer) that delivers 15a on the 12v rails. Once I get a decent balancer (advice anyone?) I think I'll be set as far as keeping lipo packs charged.

LiPo is the future in batteries. I am going to wait a couple years until the prices come down a bit, then maybe brushless and LiPo.
