I usually buy my Y's and extensions from Maxx Products (MPI}. 24ga is the light stuff. 20-22ga is the heavier stuff.

Here is a Tower source. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUR74&P=7 Make sure you get gold plated connectors, regardless of where you buy them. Both JR and Futaba type are available.

Some third party connectors either go in tight or will not fit.

I find that the Spektrum Rx cases have very tight tolerances. If I push a JR male connector into a Spektrum case, it fits perfectly, but if I use another manufacturer's JR compatible male connector, it is a real pain to get it in the socket. The same is true when I use JR compatible Female connectors on ESV's. Sometimes it is difficult to push them into a JR Switch Harness.

yeah I have the same issues. I end up sanding the connectors a little to get the proper fit.
I think what I'm going to do in this instance is make my own from 18ga wire since I'm running dual high torque digitals @ 6volts and use OEM gold plated connectors.
Can't seem to find anything ready made that's going to fit the bill.

I get Y connectors from Air-Wild. They are heavy duty and have twisted wires. The price is right.
